Strangler Fig Or Ficus, Monte Verde, Costa Rica

The Strangler Figs or Ficus trees are seen all over the Monte Verde and Santa Elena areas of Costa Rica. These trees sends out branches and roots that surround and eventually kill a host tree. The tree inside then dies, leaving this amazing "sekelton" effect.
