Tarantula Hawk Wasp, Costa Rica
These insects were HUGE! It sounded like a helicopter coming as they flew through teh air. They wer terrible at flying but packed a punch. At around 3 inches long they can attack and paralyse tarantulas before laying eggs on their still-live body! The eggs then hatch and eat the spider alive.
